This is very disappointing news, as the AGM and Dinner is a wonderful opportunity for getting together (as well as meeting our regulatory requirements!)
Unfortunately this ‘getting together’ of a large group of people presents social distancing difficulties and increases COVID-19 transmission risks.
It has been decided by the Kiama BUG committee that such a gathering is not worth the risk, with many of our members being in the ‘vulnerable’ age group. Such a meeting may not meet the requirements of current Public Health Orders.
With COVID-19 cases on the rise again we also can’t be guaranteed that any venue will be able to accommodate our group and meet COVID-19 guidelines come August 11.
So for now it’s business as usual and the current office bearers will remain in place until 2021.
